Filled with sundappled courtyards, timeless family heirlooms and vine draped balconies, Signum is probably my favorite understated luxury hotel. Aperitivo comes with views of the aeolian islands, all the way to Stromboli. Make sure to try the white wine, made of grapes from the hotel’s vineyards which dot the hillsides of Salina. The caper gelato sounds strange, but I can assure you, you’ll be dreaming of it for months to come. Oh, and don’t miss the spa! One of the most gorgeous I’ve ever seen, buy a bottle of the caper oil as a fragrant reminder of this slice of heaven.
